STYLESSNESS is used intentionally to denote a concept that is actually far more powerful than the word implies
SOME ONE
dmvA likes to act as scriptwriters. We transform plans into scenarios, spaces into sequences, and buildings into storytellers. The work of dmvA can be described as expressive and meticulous, achieving maximalism through minimalism. It is driven by a deep commitment to materiality and refined detailing. We claim no fixed style and by doing so, we claim them all. Each time, we search for a unique answer rooted in the needs of the client and the character of the place. At the heart of our approach lies a strong focus on the user. We believe that meaningful architecture emerges through dialogue, not only with the context, but with the people who will inhabit and experience the space. By embracing a participatory design process, we actively involve different users throughout the project. This allows us to design places that are inclusive, responsive, and truly lived-in.
The projects not only express emotions but also provoke them
INVOLVEMENT becomes the motive to make architecture
SOME WHERE
Our work thrives in the tension between chaos and clarity, between the city and the self. Each project is a stage or a framework for life’s theatre, where users become actors and architecture becomes script. Whether we intervene with a subtle, acupunctural gesture or shape an entire urban mass, we see conflict not as something to avoid, but as something that can lead to new ideas.

MAXIMAL minimalism
SOME HOW
Our work often moves within the paradox of maximal minimalism. A careful balancing act where architecture is reduced to its essence, yet enriched through subtle details that invite comfort, play, and curiosity. By stripping away the nonessential, space and material begin to reveal their purest character, while accents create moments of tension that keep the experience alive. This search for clarity is never a straight path. Design unfolds as a journey of distillation, where existing dynamics are read, tested, and transformed. Each step of the process carries as much meaning as the final outcome, for it is within the shifting, the experimenting, and the questioning that new insights emerge. The architecture becomes not only a destination, but a record of the discoveries that shaped it. And within this unfolding, materiality itself expands beyond its literal boundaries. Space is no longer defined only by form, but by the atmospheres it creates, the play of light and sound, the textures that invite touch, the colors that linger in memory, even the movement of bodies through space. Architecture, then, becomes a medium of the senses, a lived narrative that resonates long after it is first encountered.
architecture doesn’t necessarily need to be beautiful
Tangible experiences and tantalising conjectures of materiality are the engines of architectural perception
SOME IMPACT
The creative process doesn’t follow a manifesto. It unfolds through experimentation, by researching form, material, and sustainability. As architects, we carry a responsibility; not only to shape what is to come, but to remain in dialogue with what came before. We see existing structures and traces not as obstacles, but as opportunities to reinterpret and continue stories that were never finished. Architecture must respond to its time but also remain anchored in memory and material.
Timeless architecture does NOT exist, therefore that the architect should not be trapped in the deathly embrace of a construct
Through careful exploration of low-tech solutions, local craftsmanship, and material authenticity, we aim to create buildings that are both forward-looking and deeply grounded. Sustainability, for us, is not a stylistic choice but an ethic. Increasingly, our focus lies on the intangible values of space, atmospheres, emotions, and connections that cannot be drawn but can be felt. We design not only for the client, but also for the shadow client: the passerby, the neighbor, the visitor, and every individual who encounters with the places we create.
